The makers

Eight foremen/welders are primarily responsible for the entire production. They each work together with three assistants, mostly family members, which means a total of 32 workers. These family ties are one of the main contributing factors to the soundness of the Birdwoods team. Most of them have been employed since the foundation in 1991.

The employees are paid quite well. They are paid on the basis of production and the degree of complexity. A bonus is paid out to those who present a new design, which contributes to extra involvement. Besides, there are excellent fringe benefits such as accommodation, health care, education and clubs.
